2008-9 Workshops
Lincoln Public Schools offers affordable workshops to help students prepare for both the ACT and the SAT I college entrance exams. You can download and print a copy of the registration form that we send with each high school's back-to-school summer mailing. The flyer includes the location information, and a complete schedule of workshops. At the present time, registrations still must be sent by snail mail.
Cost: $75 per workshop. Each workshop is 7 weeks long. If a student qualifies for free or reduced lunch, tuition is reduced ($10 for free lunch, $15 for reduced lunch). To qualify for reduced tuition, I must have a note or e-mail from your school counselor indicating your student's lunch status, or a copy of the District letter granting the lunch status).
Registration for our workshops does NOT register your student for the national exam. You MUST register separately with ACT or SAT for the national exam. To register for the national exams:
- Get a registration booklet from your school's counseling office, or register on-line.
- To register for the ACT online, go to www.ACT.org
- To register for the SAT online, go to www.collegeboard.com
Refund Policy: Cancellation requests must be received before the first class date. A $10.00 handling fee will apply.
Handicap accessibility: Contact Linda Geisert for arrangements (lgeisert@lps.org or call 441-6817)
Location: Bryan Community School, 1801 S. 40th (about 1 block north from 40th & South, on the west side of 40th Street)
Questions about LPS prep workshops? Contact Linda Geisert at lgeisert@lps.org or 441-6817
Questions about which test to take, when to take these tests, and how to register for the tests: Please contact your student’s school counselor. As a classroom teacher, I focus on test prep methods only. Counselors have test registration booklets and up-to-date information on the college admission process, and are familiar with your student’s academic progress.
Students can register on-line for theACT test at www.act.org . Students can register on-line for the SAT test at www.collegeboard.com .
